The Dare to Care Learning Center's After School Program
Homework Assistance - No Extra Cost
Tutoring - No Extra Cost
The pick up times vary based on the school's schedule. Currently we pick up from Goethe Elementary, Palms Middle School, Open Magnet Charter School, Marvin Elementary, WISG and all elementary schools in Culver City and both the Culver City Middle School and High School.
At Dare to Care, we take care to provide our student's high quality services personalized for their unique educational and social needs. We will pick your child/children up from local and surrounding schools, take them to a safe location, provide them with snacks and water. The purpose of this program is to ensure that no child is left behind academically or socially.

We believe in homework for 2 primary reasons:

1) We believe that homework is essential to helping students practice and "lock in" what they've learned.

2) We believe that after having been monitored and instructed all day, homework gives students a chance to independently work and assess for themselves if they understood what they were taught.

Students are not allowed to use their phones for socializing until after homework is completed. If they don't have homework, we give them work based on the area of needs. We are not a day care center, nor a babysitting service.

We give all students an assessment at the beginning of the school year to see where they are academically. We use the results to help them reach or exceed their school, parents and even their own expectations. The teenagers who volunteer after school, help the younger children a lot with homework, private tutoring and social issues and concerns.

If you have any question concerning our programs, pick-ups or prices, please don't hesitate to contact us. We will do our very best to you and to find the best solutions for you.

Snacks and Food - No Extra Cost
We give the students a snack size bag of chips, pretzels, cheez-its or gold fish; a piece of fruit (usually an apple or an orange); a snack size cookie and a bottle of water after school every day. We call it a "snack-pack". On the day that the students are out early, sometimes, we have pizza. If one of the students has a birthday, we have cupcakes. Some of the students eat lunch as early as 11:00am and they are starving by the time we pick them up from school. We get it.
